The game was released as a timed exclusive for the PlayStation 5 for one year and is also available on PC via Steam. The distribution of sales across platforms has not been specified.

For comparison, the original Silent Hill 2, released in 2001, reached the 1 million mark only after a month.

The strong start in sales is supported by statistics. During the week of October 8 to 15, the horror game entered the Top 5 paid games on Steam and ranked 7th among all games in the store.

Currently, the Silent Hill 2 remake has an "extremely positive" rating on Steam. Critics have also highly praised the game, with a score of 86 out of 100 on Metacritic.

According to SteamDB, the peak online reached 23.6 thousand players on the first day. This is the second-best result for Bloober Team and the third among projects released by Konami.
