Video games have become one of the tools for involving Russian teenagers in criminal activity, says Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Alexander Grebenkin. He shared his opinion in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
According to Grebenkin, criminals — often from Ukraine with the support of the West — communicate with teenagers through chat rooms in games. They offer to perform special “tasks in the real world” for money. For example, to commit arson on the railway.
“Children’s games, the rules of which are written under the dictation of the customers of crimes, become a serious threat to people’s lives, the existence of transport and energy infrastructure,” Grebenkin said.
