The studio Cats Who Play shared their results for 2024 on social media. Specifically, the team revealed that their real-time strategy game, "Frontline," had accumulated over 170,000 downloads by the end of December.

However, Cats Who Play indicated that 8,000 users who downloaded the game never launched it. The studio suspects these could be bots.

Currently, the developers are working hard on the release version of "Frontline." Cats Who Play decided to rewrite the network component "almost from scratch" and make several changes to the game's meta. Additionally, the studio considers it might have to reconsider monetization. The game is presently available for free, but next year, Cats Who Play planned to release a paid edition with more extensive features.

“Unfortunately, towards the end of the year, we received the unpleasant news that Steam has almost completely ceased payments to Russian legal entities (for individual entrepreneurs and freelancers, there is still one bank that can process payments). So we'll have to see how things develop here. We are already considering alternative distribution/monetization models,” Cats Who Play explained.

"Frontline" was released in March 2024 in early access—initially on the studio's official website, and then on VK Play. The game is set to appear on Steam later. Recall that at the end of May, Cats Who Play reported 112,000 downloads of the strategy game.
