The coordinators of the free open source Godot engine have announced the release of its new version — 4.1. It is reported that more than 300 developers have been working on it for four months.
More than 900 issues have been fixed in the new release. And, according to representatives of the community, it is quite safe to migrate to the new version of the engine for all those who have already mastered Godot 4.0.
Among the changes:
▫️the visual interface now allows you to detach any elements, thereby turning them into separate windows, whose size and position on the screen can be changed in any way (Godot remembers the new position of the elements);
▫️improved the project manager: now you can attach tags to projects inside it, when you click on the latter, all projects with a similar tag will be displayed;
▫️added support for 3D textures with visual noise (3D Noise Textures), we are talking about an option that allows you to adjust the density of volumetric fog (support for the latter appeared only in Godot 4).
