The attackers managed to gain access to the personal data of 3,943 developers who attended Roblox Developers Conferences in 2017-2020. Names, dates of birth, phone numbers, house addresses and even clothing sizes have leaked into the network.

The leak was reported by Troy Hunt, the creator of the Have I Been Pwned portal, after he was contacted by one of the affected developers. According to him, the Roblox internal network was hacked back in 2020, but for a long time the stolen data could only be found in niche fraudulent communities dedicated to Roblox. On July 18, 2023, the attackers posted them on an unnamed large forum.

In a comment from PC Gamer, Roblox representatives confirmed the hack and said they had contacted the developers. They did not specify whether the company knew about the incident until 2023, but noted that an investigation is now underway.
