After three years of early access, Baldur’s Gate 3 was officially released on PC on August 3. The game immediately became a hit. Six hours after the release, 472,136 Steam users were playing the RPG from Larian Studios at the same time.

Thanks to the high interest of players, Baldur’s Gate 3 was able to take the second place in popularity on Steam among the new products of 2023. Only Hogwarts Legacy had more online — 879,308 people. It also surpassed all other Larian Studios games combined in terms of peak online.

The excitement around the release of Baldur’s Gate 3 was so great that in some regions there were problems with access to Steam. The head of Larian Studios, Sven Vincke, apologized to the players who encountered failures.

Note that Baldur’s Gate 3 performed well on Twitch. According to TwitchTracker, 479,179 viewers watched the game at its peak.
