At the 2024 Golden Joystick Awards ceremony, Sony and Arrowhead announced that Helldivers 2 has been played by over 15 million people across all platforms since its release.

It is worth noting that the developers only shared information about the increased player base. The number of Helldivers 2 copies sold to date remains undisclosed by the team.
The last time Sony shared data about the commercial success of Helldivers 2 was in May, when the game’s sales exceeded 12 million copies in less than three debut months. The company hailed the shooter as the fastest-selling game among those it's published.
Helldivers 2 was released on February 8 on PC and PlayStation 5.
