The studio received the entire amount in three parts last month, according to the Estonian Express newspaper.

Ilmar Kompus, who owns a controlling stake in ZA/UM, was forced to return the money because he received it as part of an “invalid transaction” and without the consent of other shareholders.

Recall that the creators of Disco Elysium accuse Kompus of illegally gaining control of the studio through his shell company Tütreke. This company purchased several sketches intended for the sequel of the game for €1, and then sold them back to ZA/UM for €4.8 million. Thanks to this scheme, Kompus became the new CEO of the studio.
