Maksut Shadaev, speaking at a meeting in the State Duma, called the domestic game engine a “painful story.” The head of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation said that its development can cost a fairly large amount, despite the fact that the engine itself is “poorly monetized”.
Shadaev said that the ministry expects to find private sources of financing. According to Vedomosti, such an investor has already been found, but it is not reported who it is.
Shadaev also added that it is “pointless to discuss” the allocation of grants for games that will be made on a domestic engine, since the engine itself is not yet available.
