A week ago, sources of the Video Games Chronicle publication reported that Ubisoft canceled the unannounced sequel Immortals Fenyx Rising. As journalist Stephen Totilo from Axios recently found out, work on the sequel was going well and the project looked promising, but the company decided to bet on the Assassin’s Creed series. Therefore, Ubisoft abandoned the game and redirected resources to Assassin’s Creed Codename Red.
In China, an artist was arrested under the pseudonym Shirakami_san, who created explicit videos with the characters of Genshin Impact and other famous games. According to Chinese media, since 2019, he has earned ¥1.83 million ($256 thousand) on this. It is reported that Shirakami_san was charged with illegal profit-making: the artist published videos on foreign platforms, including Patreon, and transferred money to a bank account in China. The artist has already admitted guilt and agreed to cooperate with the investigation. The authors of Genshin Impact did not comment on the arrest, but we recall that recently they have been actively fighting copyright infringement, and Shirakami_san can be blamed for this. Earlier, the studio miHoYo reported the arrest of the creators of cheats for their game.
