  • GameStop announced the closure of Game Informer. It was the oldest gaming publication in the US, having started in 1991. The Game Informer editorial team regularly published exclusive materials on games, and in recent issues, shared details on Dragon Age: The Veilguard and The Casting of Frank Stone. The official reasons for the closure have not been disclosed.
  • Michael Guthrie is preparing to step down from his position as CFO of Roblox after six years with the company. He will leave Roblox once a successor is found. In a statement, Roblox mentioned that Guthrie decided to resign for personal reasons.
  • Microsoft told MobileGamer that it is actively working on its own mobile game store. According to the corporation, it is currently at the testing stage. There is no information on the release date. Previously, Xbox President Sarah Bond stated that the store would launch by the end of July 2024.
  • According to Windows Central, Microsoft has decided to form a team within Blizzard Entertainment to develop AA-level games based on the franchise owned by the division—Warcraft, StarCraft, Diablo, among others. Over the past few weeks, they have transferred dozens of King employees to Blizzard. Windows Central speculates that the experience of King veterans will be useful for releasing the created projects on mobile devices, but it is likely that the games will also appear on PC and consoles.
