Midgar Studio, known for the games Edge Of Eternity and Edge of Memories, has indeed ceased to exist. This was announced on LinkedIn by its CEO, Jérémy Zeler-Maury.
Edge of Memories
Let us recall, the first reports about the impending closure of the studio surfaced in early July. At that time, French media discovered that the court had declared Midgar Studio bankrupt and ordered the commencement of liquidation proceedings, but the developers themselves had not officially commented on the rumors until now.
According to Zeler-Maury, Midgar Studio tried until the very end to avoid its unfortunate fate. Among other efforts, it sought a potential buyer, but to no avail.
"Midgar Studio is finishing its work, but what we created will live on in our games, in our memories, and in everything each of us will do in the future," Zeler-Maury wrote.
Midgar Studio is one of Nacon's subsidiary studios. Previously, the company, amidst its financial difficulties, had already closed Big Bad Wolf, Spiders, and Nacon Tech.
