At the Digital Dragons conference, Larian Studios head Swen Vincke acknowledged that while creating Baldur’s Gate 3, the studio's staff sometimes had to work overtime. However, the crunch was significantly less compared to the work on previous games.

According to Vincke, the developers of Baldur’s Gate 3 "very, very, very rarely" stayed at work past 8 PM or worked on weekends. Everyone who did overtime was compensated by Larian Studios.

Vincke noted that Larian Studios tried to minimize crunch. What helped was that the studio's offices are located in countries with different time zones. As a result, Larian Studios was able to ensure a 24-hour development cycle.
