The publication GamesIndustry released a major infographic with key figures for the gaming industry at the close of 2024. Here are some insights.

- In 2024, the global video game market revenue reached $184.3 billion, increasing by only 0.2% compared to 2023.
- Half of this amount came from mobile games — $92.5 billion. Mobile was the only segment that experienced growth, showing a 2.8% increase year-over-year. Revenue for console games fell by 4% to $50.3 billion, while PC games revenue declined by 0.2% to $41.5 billion.
- The share of digital game sales continued to grow. In 2024, it accounted for 95.4% or $175.8 billion. By platform, the digital sales share on PC was 99%, while it remained at 84% for consoles.
- In the US, the best-selling premium game for "major platforms" from January to November 2024 was EA Sports College Football 25. The data includes both digital and physical sales in dollars.
- For the UK and Japanese markets, GamesIndustry presented the top physical game sales rankings in units. According to them, the top hit in UK retail was EA Sports FC 25, while in Japan, it was Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake.
