In early February, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Egypt, Amr Talaat, expressed support for the gaming industry. He said that the country’s authorities are striving to create an environment that will promote the development of video games.
Talaat also added that the ministry advocates that young people learn to develop high-quality video games. According to him, Egypt already has a lot of educational courses, including free ones, on creating video games.
According to the data of the analytical company Statista, in 2023, Egyptian residents will spend $890 million on video games. The vast majority of the amount will be for mobile games — $678.2 million.
