Employees of the French studio Spiders will hold a strike against their own management on September 2-3. At least 44 out of 95 workers will participate.

GreedFall II

In an open letter, the developers explained that they decided to take this step after failing to meet with Spiders' head Anne Devouassoux.

The goal of the strike is to improve working conditions in the studio. According to the protesters, Spiders has suffered from numerous issues for several years, which have significantly worsened in the past year. In particular, employees are dissatisfied with low wages, high turnover, lack of transparency, and poor communication with management.

The letter notes that the situation in the studio has affected GreedFall II, which is scheduled to launch in early access on September 24, 2024. Early access was not initially planned for the game, and after the decision was made, the dates were repeatedly postponed. Moreover, due to unclear creative vision, the game's budget has been changed several times. To date, the development of GreedFall II is "at an impasse," and its developers are burnt out. Many experienced members of the team have left Spiders, and others plan to follow after the title's release.

The management of Spiders has not commented on the employees' initiative.
