On February 8, Nintendo released Metroid Prime Remastered in its digital store. A week later, the developers of the original game discovered that they were not marked in the credits — they were not too happy about it.
Zoid Kirsch, a former employee of Retro Studios, drew attention to the fact that the company, in principle, did not list the names of the authors of the “old” Metroid Prime. Instead, she just wrote that the remaster is based on the Nintendo GameCube and Wii versions of the game. Kirsch said he was disappointed with Nintendo’s move.
Another developer, Jack Mathews, called the incident a mockery of the Metroid Prime team. He thinks Nintendo should be ashamed. Especially considering that part of the original code moved to the remaster almost unchanged.
