According to Com2uS CEO Nam Jaekwan, the company has parted ways with more than 100 team members working on the Com2Verse metaverse platform since the beginning of the year. The layoffs were conducted because Com2Verse was unprofitable. The platform itself has not been shut down but is set to undergo a significant overhaul.

Additionally, Com2uS has laid off a "small portion" of employees from the company’s headquarters.

According to information from the PitchBook portal, as of 2023, Com2uS employed more than 1,500 people.

In the financial report, Com2uS reported a 21.5% drop in sales to 173 billion won ($126 million) for the quarter. A third of the revenue was generated in South Korea — 55.3 billion won ($40.3 million, +58.2%), while the second-largest market was North America — 45.2 billion won ($33 million, -7.2%).
