Inflexion Games studio has confirmed the closure of its UK office and announced the restructuring of its Canadian team. This decision was made because the early access launch of the Victorian survival game Nightingale was not commercially successful.

The studio's head, Aaryn Flynn, acknowledged that the game did not meet expectations. “We are dissatisfied with the current situation, audience sentiment, and the number of active players,” he stated.
Also, in light of these events, the company has been forced to lay off some staff. The exact number has not been disclosed, but according to the GamesIndustry portal, the layoffs could affect at least 22 people.
Nightingale became available on Steam in February of this year. At its peak, the game had about 47,500 concurrent players.
However, retaining the audience proved challenging: interest in the project quickly waned despite the team's efforts to add content and launch an offline mode. As a result, the reviews on Steam remain "mixed."
Nonetheless, Inflexion Games will continue to work on Nightingale, releasing updates for it. The studio does not intend to completely shut down the project.
