The head of miHoYo, Liu Wei, spoke at a private event in Beijing dedicated to artificial intelligence. During the event, he announced plans for the Chinese studio to actively develop AI for game creation.

According to Wei, miHoYo intends to invest a total of 100 billion yuan, or approximately 14.7 billion dollars, in AI. The funds will be allocated in stages over the next three years.
Ultimately, the creators of Genshin Impact aim to establish a complete internal AI ecosystem with GPU clusters, training systems, and applied solutions. It is anticipated that these will play a significant role in the development of new miHoYo projects. For instance, the studio plans to utilize AI for NPC systems and content generation.
Interestingly, the head of miHoYo takes a philosophical approach toward the initiative. In his speech, he stated that the studio is not aiming for success with AI at any cost and is prepared for failure, although they would obviously prefer the opposite outcome.
“Even if nothing comes of it and we achieve no result, we'll come to terms with it. We’ll just consider it as having organized a grand fireworks display,” Wei said.
