As announced by the studio Funday Games, as part of the deal, they handed over to Softgames all their so-called instant games — titles that launch almost immediately after clicking on them without the need to download and install. Among these was the chess game Chess Quest, which performed well on the Facebook Instant Games* platform.
According to Funday Games, they decided to sell after reevaluating their business strategy. The fact is that their focus is now on the development and publishing of premium projects for PC, such as Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, rather than working with instant games, thus the agreement with Softgames became a logical step for the studio.
Softgames itself specializes in such games and is currently actively expanding its catalog through acquisitions.
How much Softgames paid for the Funday Games titles is unknown.
