The veteran of Japanese game development and creator of the Zero Escape series, Kotaro Uchikoshi, has officially announced a studio called CRASH KEYS.
In the social network X, Uchikoshi revealed that he formally founded CRASH KEYS back in March 2025. Initially, the developer planned to unveil the existence of the studio in 2027, but circumstances forced an earlier announcement — and they are far from joyful.
The fact is, Uchikoshi explained, that a game his team had been working on for a year and a half was unexpectedly canceled recently. He did not disclose the reasons for the cancellation but stated that if the studio doesn't start a new project soon, it risks closing down before even getting a firm start.
Uchikoshi urged investors to pay attention to CRASH KEYS. He also appealed to other gaming companies that might be open to collaborative development.
