Estonian indie developer Mike Klubnika now generously supports the project that helped him create his hits.

This was announced by Godot through the project's official social media, welcoming Klubnika as a new member of the engine's development fund. "This is a significant contribution that will help us continue to develop Godot for everyone who wishes," the statement reads.

Godot is a free engine. However, anyone can support it by either donating small amounts to the development team or making more substantial contributions. The minimum "corporate" tier is the "Silver" (6,000 euros per year), and Klubnika became a "Platinum" sponsor (36,000 euros per year). Above that is the special "Patron" category — 100,000 euros per year.

Besides Klubnika, Godot has three other "Platinum" sponsors: JetBrains, V-Sekai, and W4 Games.

Klubnika's most successful project is Buckshot Roulette, with sales exceeding 4 million copies. Last year, the developer released the hacker horror s.p.l.i.t, which was not as popular, but found its own audience.

At the end of January, the Godot team released version 4.6, which revamped the reflections technology, introduced a new inverse kinematics system, and added a number of other innovations and fixes.
