Estonian indie developer Mike Klubnika now generously supports the project that helped him create his hits.

This was announced by Godot on the project's official social media, welcoming Klubnika as a new member of the engine's development fund. “This is a significant contribution that will help us continue to develop Godot for everyone who wishes to use it,” the statement reads.

Godot is a free engine. However, anyone can support it by either donating small amounts to the development team or making more substantial contributions. The minimum "corporate" tier is "Silver" (€6,000 per year), and Klubnika became a "Platinum" sponsor (€36,000 per year). Above this is only the special category "Patron" — €100,000 per year.

Besides Klubnika, Godot has three more "Platinum" sponsors: JetBrains, V-Sekai, and W4 Games.

Klubnika's most successful project is Buckshot Roulette, whose sales exceeded 4 million copies. Last year, the developer released the hacker horror s.p.l.i.t, which was not as popular but found its audience.

At the end of January, the Godot team released version 4.6, which revamped the reflection technology, introduced a new inverse kinematics system, and added several other innovations and fixes.
