On January 31, James Gunn and Peter Safran spoke in more detail about their plans to create a shared DC universe. In particular, they stated that they want to use the same actors in films, TV series, comics and games. Jake Solomon, creative director of XCOM and Marvel’s Midnight Suns, has already spoken out against this approach.
Solomon wrote on Twitter that if Marvel management had made such a decision, it would have been a “nightmare” for Firaxis Games studio. In his opinion, movies and games are too different formats to combine them in such a way. In addition, voice actors may suffer because of this.
Earlier, Del Walker, one of the artists of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, shared a similar opinion. He noted that hiring Hollywood actors would seriously hit the budget of games.
