Everdale is a city-building simulator set in a fairy-tale world with a focus on cooperative gameplay. It was initially developed by Supercell, but in October 2022, the company decided to shut down the project, and a few months later, the game was acquired by the studio Metacore. However, it turned out that Everdale will not be released after all.

Metacore's CEO Mika Tammenkoski announced that the studio is discontinuing work on Everdale. The developers spent a year and a half carefully analyzing the game but could not find a way to turn it into a hit that could generate revenue and maintain players' interest in the long term.

Tammenkoski added that Metacore never made specific promises about Everdale. The decision to abandon the game was difficult for the studio, but it was necessary. The insights gained during the development of Everdale will be applied to the creation of other games.

It has been reported that the IP of Everdale will now return to Supercell. What the company plans to do with it is unknown, but it is unlikely that they will revive the game.
