Analysts from Gamma Data have published a monthly report on the state of the Chinese gaming market. According to them, in January 2023, the market began to recover, but the situation on it is still far from ideal.

▪️In January, the revenue of the Chinese gaming market amounted to $3.5 billion. This is 16.9% less in annual terms, but 23.6% more compared to December.

▪️Most of the amount came from mobile games — $2.54 billion. This is also less than last year (by 20.7%), but more than in December (by 26.8%).

According to analysts, the revenue of the Chinese gaming market will begin to grow in annual terms only at the end of March or somewhere in the second quarter of 2023. Until then, it will be hampered by a shortage of new releases and the consequences of strict industry regulation in the country.
