Sad Cat Studios, a studio with Belarusian roots, has raised $5 million from GEM Capital. She is going to spend part of this amount to finalize the retrofuturistic platformer Replaced.
Sad Cat Studios expects that the investment will help make Replaced more interesting. She also wants to use the money she received to develop the next games.
Initially, Sad Cat Studios planned to release Replaced in 2022, but first postponed it until 2023, and then until 2024. As the developers explained, their game turned out to be extremely large-scale. Since the audience had very high expectations, they realized that they could not break promises and publish an insufficiently high-quality game. As a result, they decided to spend more time on Replaced.
