In recent years, the government of Mordovia has been paying significant attention to the development of the gaming industry in the region. This was shared by the head of the republic, Artem Zdunov, in a conversation with "Interfax" during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2026.

According to Zdunov, with governmental support, Mordovia has already succeeded in creating the infrastructure necessary for the establishment of the game development industry. For instance, in December 2024, the second building of the "Youth" business incubator was opened in the republic, providing newcomer teams access to computing resources and assisting in finding partners and investors.

In addition, Zdunov notes that special training programs have been introduced at Mordovia State University. According to the head of the republic, these programs are essential for retaining talented young people; if they can realize their potential at home, they will be more likely to stay in Mordovia.

Zdunov also reminded that with the assistance of the Mordovia government, a racing game called "Off-Road Commanders" is being developed. This is currently the flagship gaming project in the republic, but the authorities do not intend to limit themselves to just this project.

"Our goal is to create an ecosystem where a budding developer can access everything necessary: from a workplace and mentor to market access," concluded Zdunov.
