On May 1st, the winter adventure game Meltopia, developed by the studio Garden of Dreams, was released on Steam. The game, set in a snow-covered world where players search for mammoth remains, has been showing success right from its launch, according to the team’s founder, Eugene Grishakov.

Grishakov shared about Meltopia's strong start with the community on his YouTube channel. He boasted that by May 5th, the game had sold 15,800 copies and generated $63,000 in revenue. The refund rate was relatively low at 3.9%.
"If you think about it, the conversion rate from wishlists is already over 50%. [I don't know] if it can be counted this way. The number of wishlists is already at 47,600. And it's important to note that there are many 'removals' from wishlists after purchase," Grishakov added.
Additionally, Grishakov noted that Meltopia managed to be featured in three important sections on Steam: "Popular New Releases," "Top Selling New Releases This Month," and "Popular Games Under 300 Rubles."
The initial players have responded well to Meltopia. As of today, it holds a "very positive" rating (86%) based on 393 reviews — the adventure is mainly praised for its relaxing gameplay and the absence of complex mechanics. There are downsides too. For instance, many have complained about bugs with the autosave feature. However, Garden of Dreams is actively releasing patches, so at least some of the issues should soon be resolved.
Currently, Garden of Dreams is also working on their next game — the pixel farm Silicone Heart. The exact release date is still unknown.
