Employees of the QA department at Blizzard Albany (formerly Vicarious Visions) were inspired by the example of Raven Software and also decided to unionize. They announced that they had applied to the US National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).
According to The Washington Post, last Thursday, the testers asked the management of Activision Blizzard to voluntarily recognize the union, but did not receive a response.
In a statement to the media, the publisher indicated that he respects the right of employees to decide for themselves whether or not to join a trade union. He also believes that direct relations between the company and employees are the most productive.
If everything goes well, the new union will be called the Game Workers Alliance — Albany.
