The creators of Dying Light ended 2023 with an operational loss of 90 million zloty (22.7 million dollars), reports the Polish publication Puls Biznesu, citing Techland’s financial report. This is the worst result in the company's history.

Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Bloody Ties

Compared to the previous year, Techland's revenue dropped almost fivefold—from 1.12 billion zloty (283.2 million dollars) to 229.1 million zloty (57.9 million dollars). It’s worth noting that 2022 was a record year for Techland in terms of revenue, which surged significantly due to the release of Dying Light 2: Stay Human and its expansion Bloody Ties.

Techland's management notes that this is a normal situation. Profits for gaming companies rise and fall depending on the release of new games. The funds generated by Techland’s previously released projects are sufficient for the company’s continued development.

Techland is currently working on its next game. According to Puls Biznesu, in 2023 the company spent 24.6 million zloty (6.2 million dollars) on its development. The total production costs for Techland over the year amounted to 96.5 million zloty (24.4 million dollars).
