Ilkka Paananen, CEO of Supercell, summed up the results of 2022 for his company. He spoke about the drop in revenue and said that developing hit games “has become more difficult than we ever thought.”

▪️Supercell’s revenue decreased by 6% year-on-year and amounted to €1.77 billion.

▪️EBITDA fell by 14% to €632 million. Paananen explained the fall by the fact that the company has increased investments in its future.

Paananen also admitted that the departure of Supercell from Russia and Belarus affected the finances of the Finnish company. Nevertheless, he believes that Supercell made the right decision.

The revenue of Clash of Clans has reached the $10 billion mark for the entire time of its existence, and the revenue of Hay Day is $2 billion.

▪️To date, Supercell has “killed” more than 30 games. Now she has five projects in development, the company has made the most progress with Squad Busters.
