On July 8, Unknown Worlds studio released a major update for Subnautica 2, adding numerous enhancements to the game. In honor of this, the developers also shared new official sales figures for the title.
Subnautica 2
In a press release, the studio clarified that they surpassed 5 million copies sold of Subnautica 2 as early as the beginning of June. It’s possible that this is a typo and it actually meant early July, but overall, this data fits well within the sales picture of the game.
Previous milestones of Subnautica 2:
- 1 million copies — almost immediately after release;
- 2 million copies — within 12 hours;
- 4 million copies — within five days.
Subnautica 2 was launched in early access format on May 14, 2026. It is currently available on PC and Xbox Series consoles, including as part of the Game Pass subscription. It is expected that Subnautica 2 will reach its full release in approximately two to three years.
