The first half of 2026 became the best financially for KRAFTON. The South Korean company reported this in a recent report.

Subnautica 2

  • From January to June 2026, KRAFTON earned 2.66 trillion won ($1.8 billion), marking the largest semi-annual revenue in its history. Compared to last year, the amount increased by 73.3%, even though the company also reported a record back then.
  • Operating profit reached a record 972.5 billion won ($670 million), growing by 38.3%.
  • KRAFTON's net profit rose by 25.1% to 484.2 billion won ($333 million).
  • KRAFTON explained that thanks are due to the excellent debut of Subnautica 2 — the game was released on May 14 and sold 5 million copies within the first 22 days. The company added that both parts of Subnautica, along with the Below Zero expansion, generated 232.5 billion won ($160 million) in the past half-year. Now KRAFTON aims to turn the series into a full-fledged franchise.
  • Additionally, significant financial contributions traditionally came from PUBG. Year-over-year, revenues from the franchise jumped by 25%.
  • Most of KRAFTON's earnings came from mobile games — 1.15 trillion won ($794 million, +20.2%). The second-largest platform was PC — 924.2 billion won ($636 million, +70.1%). Console games took third place with a semi-annual revenue of 37.7 billion won ($26 million, +64.6%).

It should be reminded that in the summer, KRAFTON finally resolved a conflict with the management of its subsidiary Unknown Worlds, which developed Subnautica 2. It agreed to pay the studio "significantly more" than the previously agreed $250 million in bonuses and even promised to provide an additional bonus in the future as the game develops.
