The analytical company Circana shared the statistics of the American gaming market as a result of September 2023.
In total, Americans spent $4.49 billion on the purchase of video games, gaming hardware and gaming accessories in a month. This is 10% more than in 2022.
Video game sales totaled $3.84 billion (+13%), hardware sales — $451 million (-8%), accessory sales - —197 million (+11%).
Starfield topped the top of the best-selling games in September. It also ranked seventh in sales in the top for the whole of 2023.
Along with Starfield, the top five games in September included Mortal Kombat 1, EA Sports FC 24, Madden NFL 24 and Payday 3.
The PlayStation 5 remained the best-selling console in both dollars and pieces. The DualSense Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Limited Edition controller became the best-selling accessory in dollar terms.
