The Japanese company Square Enix reported for the last three fiscal quarters (ended December 31, 2022). According to their results, both revenue and profit fell.
▪️Square Enix revenue fell 6.6% year-on-year to $1.99 billion. Operating profit increased by 17.6% year—on-year to $321.4 million.
▪️One of the reasons for the fall, Square Enix called insufficiently good sales of new products like Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion and Dragon Quest X. The company did not mention Forspoken sales, since the game was released quite recently, on January 24.
In just nine months, Square Enix sold 16.43 million copies of games — 13 million copies less than a year earlier.
