Sony's gaming division has announced the launch of an accelerator program for developers from the Middle East and North Africa — the MENA Hero Project. Participants will receive investments and other support from Sony.

Teams from Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Jordan, Egypt, Morocco, and Tunisia will be able to participate in the MENA Hero Project. There are no size restrictions for teams—they can consist of even one person.

Sony has not disclosed all the terms of cooperation, but it is known that the minimum investment size will be $100,000. Besides funding, the company promises to provide developers with mentorship and access to Sony's internal resources. Additionally, Sony is ready to publish some games.

Sony hopes that the MENA Hero Project will boost the gaming industry development in the region.

This is not the first time Sony has launched a regional gaming accelerator. For instance, it has the China Hero Project for developers from China, which included the creators of Genshin Impact in 2019. A year ago, Sony also launched the India Hero Project for Indian teams.
