Kenichiro Yoshida, the CEO of Sony, mentioned in an interview with the Financial Times that the company intends to more actively invest in the production of a greater number of original projects, including games.

The Last of Us

According to Yoshida, Sony wants to shift its focus from distributing projects created by others to developing its own intellectual properties. This will enable Sony to "cement its transformation from a consumer electronics brand into a global entertainment company."

In addition to games, Sony plans to invest more money into original films, anime, and other content.

As noted by the Financial Times, over the past six years, Sony has spent $10 billion on growth in the gaming, film, and music segments. These business areas currently generate 60% of the company's revenue.
