The first quarter of fiscal 2022 was not very smooth for PlayStation. According to a recent report, the operating profit of Sony‘s gaming division decreased to $397 million (-37%), and sales — to $4.54 billion (-2%).

The company also reported that for April-June:

▪️shipped 2.4 million PS5 consoles;
▪️sold 47.1 million games for PS4 and PS5;
▪️The number of PS Plus subscribers amounted to 47.3 million people.

Update: Initially, we wrote that profits fell by 30.5%, and sales — by 11.7%. However, Sony’s report meant a change not in percentages, but in yen (i.e., for example, profit decreased by 30.5 billion yen, which is 37%).
