Today Sony Interactive Entertainment announced the launch of a new division in China — China Software Business Department. Little is known about it yet, but, according to company documents, it will be headed by Sean Kelly, the former head of the Chinese branch of PlayStation.
Analyst Daniel Ahmad linked the appearance of the office with the growing popularity of the Sony gaming brand in China. He pointed to data from the company’s latest report, judging by which, the PS5 is sold there 2.7 times faster than the PS4 at the time.
