Last week, Turkish media reported that Sony had decided to close its office in Istanbul. On February 6, the company confirmed the rumors in a comment for the portal GamesIndustry.biz .

Sony explained that recently the “difficult business environment” in Turkey has increasingly affected the revenues of the divisions engaged in television and audio products. However, the company stressed that it was not going to completely leave the country. In particular, its technical support will continue to work with local gamers, and those, in turn, will be able to continue using the PS Store and PS Plus.

Earlier, National Turk reported that Sony will transfer the functions of distributing PS5 games and consoles in Turkey to third-party firms. Sony has not commented on this information.
