The conflict between former Marathon game director Christopher Barrett and the companies Sony and Bungie has been successfully resolved.

Let us recall that Barrett filed a lawsuit against his former employers in December 2024—nine months after being let go from Bungie. According to the companies, the reason for his dismissal was complaints from female employees about inappropriate flirting. Barrett, on his part, denied the accusations. In his claim, he stated that his reputation was deliberately tarnished to avoid paying him $45 million in bonuses that Sony owed him after acquiring Bungie. Barrett demanded $200 million in damages.

Barrett announced the settlement agreement on social media. He did not disclose all the terms on which the parties ultimately agreed, so it is unclear if he received any payments or not. It's only known that Barrett's name has been added to the credits of Marathon, recognizing him as the original head of the game's development.

In any case, Barrett admitted he is "very satisfied" with the outcome of the case.
