Black Tabby Games announced that Slay the Princess has surpassed the half-million mark in copies sold worldwide. It took the game just over a year to reach this milestone.

From March to November alone, 300,000 copies were sold from the total count.

The recent surge in sales is likely linked to the release of the game's expanded version — The Pristine Cut — on October 24th. The update significantly increased the content of Slay the Princess, adding new chapters, endings, and visual elements. At the same time, the game received a 20% discount on Steam.

Moreover, alongside the major update release, Slay the Princess became available on PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch consoles. This also may have contributed to the growth in sales.

The PC version of the game was released on October 23, 2023.

Slay the Princess is a visual novel with a black-and-white aesthetic, created using the free Ren’Py engine. In the storyline, the player must kill the princess to save the world. The project is developed by Black Tabby Games, a studio consisting of just two people—a husband and wife development team.
