Sloclap studio, which created Sifu, shared the latest figures on fighting game sales in honor of the game's birthday. In early February, she turned two years old.

The developers thanked the gamers and added two new free costumes to the game as a sign of appreciation. Both suits are already available to users on all platforms except the Nintendo Switch. Owners of this version will have to wait a bit.

Sifu was released on February 8, 2022 on PC and PlayStation consoles, and eventually reached the Xbox and Nintendo Switch consoles. Critics generally received the game well: its score on Metacritic ranges from 71 points (PlayStation 4) to 81 points (PlayStation 5) out of 100 possible.
Recall the dynamics of Sifu sales:
- 500 thousand copies — three days after the release;
- 1 million copies — by March 2, 2022;
- 2 million copies by March 17, 2023.
In December 2022, Deadline reported that Sloclap had entered into an agreement with Story Kitchen to film the fighting game. Derek Kolstad, the creator of John Wick, was appointed the screenwriter of the project.
