The announcement was made by tinyBuild's CEO Alex Nichiporchik on the social network X.

SAND: Raiders of Sophie

SAND: Raiders of Sophie is a steampunk PvP action game about walking fortresses, developed by Hologryph and TowerHaus studios. The game debuted on June 22 in early access on Steam.

While Nichiporchik did not disclose the number of copies sold, it's known that the game approached its release with 1.1 million wishlists. Instead, he acknowledged that despite a decent initial revenue, the launch of SAND: Raiders of Sophie was not very smooth. The servers faced a DDoS attack, affecting its Steam rating, which currently stands at a "mixed" 60%. According to the top manager, the game team is working to resolve the issue, so the reviews might improve soon.

However, it's worth noting that the reviews criticize not only the server issues. Many gamers complain about the overall rather raw state of SAND: Raiders of Sophie: the game features bugs, and its optimization leaves much to be desired.

Due to these technical problems, the release of SAND: Raiders of Sophie was delayed. The game was initially intended to be released on June 10, but after a server stress test, the date was pushed to June 22. Apparently, almost two weeks were not enough to get everything in order.

An interesting point: amid the release of SAND: Raiders of Sophie, tinyBuild’s shares have increased in value. They are currently trading at 10 pence (13 cents) each, which is 14.3% higher than the previous day.
