Yesterday, on May 14, the pirate survival game Windrose by Kraken Express turned exactly one month old. According to the developers, over 2 million people have purchased it in that time.

"When we first embarked on this adventure, we never imagined that our game would gather such a large and enthusiastic community around it. Seeing you explore the game world, share your stories, build forts and piers, submit bug reports, and support us on this journey means far more to us than words can express," wrote Kraken Express in the Windrose event feed on Steam.
Windrose has been showing excellent sales right from the start. Here are the key milestones for the game:
- 500 thousand copies — in 48 hours;
- 1 million copies — in six days;
- 1.5 million copies — in two weeks;
- 2 million copies — in one month.
Currently, Kraken Express is working on a patch for Windrose to fix some of the game's bugs. After that, the team will start developing a major update.
Remember, at the end of April, we released a large premium article about Windrose. In it, we not only analyzed the game's launch metrics within the genre's context but also shared information about the developers. You can read the article here.
