By the end of March 2025, the meme slasher-action game "Rusy vs Lizards" was purchased over 725,000 times. This number was shared by the developers from the Bratans studio in an interview with streamer WELOVEGAMES.

The last time the Bratans team disclosed the game's performance was in October of last year. At that time, the studio boasted that since September 2023, they had sold 679,420 copies, nearly all through Steam, with only 7,000 copies sold on VK Play.
Currently, the authors of "Rusy vs Lizards" did not provide a platform breakdown, but they did share some insights on the sales geography. They confirmed that China is among the top 5 markets for the game, taking either the fourth or fifth position—the developers found it difficult to specify further. Despite this fact, Chinese gamers purchased "Rusy vs Lizards" far less frequently than it might seem, accounting for about 2,000 copies. Almost all other sales occurred in Russian-speaking countries.
The circulation of the sequel, released on March 27, 2025, has not yet been announced by the Bratans. They noted that initial sales for "Rusy vs Lizards 2" were significantly lower than those for the first installment, but this was expected. In any case, the game showed a promising start and is expected to recoup development costs within one or two weeks after release.
"Obviously, achieving the same success [as the original game] isn't just going to happen. It's necessary to try to make something of higher quality, more playable. More attention should be paid to the product itself rather than trying to jump on the bandwagon of some new meme. That strategy probably doesn't work; it only happens once," said Daniil Kosachev, the game designer for "Rusy vs Lizards."
The studio currently has no specific plans for a third installment in the series. As the developers noted, they are open to making "Rusy vs Lizards 3" if the sequel is widely played. If not, the Bratans will move on to something else.
