Today, October 11, Metaphor: ReFantazio, a new RPG from the creators of Persona, was released on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. The launch of the project turned out to be extremely successful.

Atlus announced that Metaphor: ReFantazio has already sold over one million copies. It appears this has made the novelty the fastest-selling game in Atlus' history. The title previously belonged to Persona 3 Reload, which sold one million copies in its debut week.

Thanks to such sales, Metaphor: ReFantazio showcased strong performance on Steam. At the time of writing this news, 39,057 users were playing it simultaneously on the platform. In terms of Steam activity, Metaphor: ReFantazio has already surpassed almost all Atlus games, only trailing Persona 3 Reload (45,002 users). It's possible that by the evening or over the weekend, it will break the record.

Currently, Metaphor: ReFantazio holds a "very positive" rating on Steam. 90% of review authors have spoken favorably about the game. Critics have also received Metaphor: ReFantazio well, with its average score on Metacritic ranging from 91 to 93 points out of 100, depending on the platform.
