The indie studio Lo-Fi Games has also shared news regarding the sales of its game.

Kenshi

As a reminder, Kenshi is a cult role-playing "sandbox" game with a vast open world, whose alpha version was released in 2011. A couple of years later, it became one of the first games to participate in Steam's Early Access program, and in December 2018, it was officially released. For a long time, Kenshi was developed single-handedly by Chris Hunt, but over the years, he formed his own small team.

“Since the game's release in 2018, 3 million players have already explored the world of Kenshi. This is a significant number—and we couldn't have reached it without our fans. We want to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to you. To those who decided to give Kenshi a chance on a whim. To the mod creators and fan artists, storytellers, fans of Beep, and content creators. To everyone who recommended Kenshi to a friend, who uploaded a screenshot, and all those who prefer to keep their playtime a secret,” wrote Lo-Fi Games in the Kenshi event feed on Steam.

Here is what the current sales milestones for Kenshi look like:

  • 1 million copies — October 2020;
  • 2.3 million copies — April 2024;
  • 3 million copies — May 2026.

In its message, Lo-Fi Games added that it continues to work on the Kenshi sequel, but cannot even provide an approximate release date yet.
